About Miss Dee

Miss Dee Carter is a warm and encouraging children's author who creates drawing books for preschoolers and kindergartners. Every book in her How to Draw for Kids series is reviewed by a kindergarten teacher with over 30 years of classroom experience, so each step matches what young hands and growing minds can really do.

Miss Dee noticed that most drawing books overwhelm young children with too many complicated steps. She believes that early creativity should happen away from screens, at a patient pace and entirely free from the pressure to be perfect. Her books take the frustration out of drawing and act like training wheels for your child's drawing journey, helping them build pencil control and creative confidence through big, simple shapes.
